Tip for creating realistic animation

I found that when trying to create a 3D bullet shell effect, filming an actual bullet shell being thrown and then frame by frame positioning the 3D bullet shell over the real one in the background plate results in the fake shell having very realistic weight and movement!
Just thought this was an insightful tip.:blush:

Ok. Still, sounds good, I’d try it if I had a spare bullet shell lying around!

I had it saved from a family reunion way back where we shot some guns. I remember thinking that I wouldn’t get access to bullet shells again so I saved a handful.:grinning:
